Why this page has no “best weapon” section
Search for any weapon in any shooter and you will find a ranked list. Almost all of them are built on damage-per-second figures that nobody outside the studio can verify, in a game whose numbers change between patches. WARDOGS is in early access, which makes those figures move faster than usual.
So this page publishes what can be checked — price, unlock relationship, and the role the source list associates with each item — and leaves the ranking question open rather than answering it badly. If a page tells you a weapon is “the best” without telling you the measurement behind that claim, the claim’s only real content is its confidence.
There is a second reason for the discipline. A “best weapon” list is the most common shape of content-farm page on a game site: cheap to generate, impossible to falsify, and identical across twenty sites. The version published here is deliberately harder to write and easier to check.
Weapons and attachments, with verified prices
| Item | Price | Unlock relationship | What the source list says it is for | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bushmaster M17S rifle | Free | Starter weapon | The rifle you begin with. Nothing needs to be bought to deploy with it | 【B】 |
| T-21 rifle | $600 | Vendor purchase | The first cheap upgrade. Cheaper than one revive payout 【B】 | 【B】 |
| GGX17 pistol | $5,000 | Vendor purchase | Described as widely regarded as not worth buying first | 【B】 |
| Binoculars | ~$75 | Vendor purchase | Scouting tool. The cheapest paid item traced, cheaper than a single recon mark pays 【B】 | 【B】 |
| Large Hammer | $2,400 | Support 8 | Required for building and for mortar use | 【B】 |
| 6–10x MRAD scope | $40,000 | Vendor purchase | Long-range optic; part of the Season 1 price list | 【B】 |
| 6–10x MOA scope | $45,000 | Vendor purchase | Long-range optic; $5,000 above the MRAD listing | 【B】 |
| Forward Operating Base supply | $7,500 unit cost | Vendor purchase | Team structure. Also the prerequisite that makes mortars possible | 【B】 |
| Mortar salvo consumable | 90 Ammo Supplies per 3-round salvo | Requires Large Hammer plus FOB supply | The consumable side of the mortar | 【B】 |
Two rows are worth a second look.
The $600 rifle is the best-value line in the table 【C】. It costs less than one revive payout of about $900 【B】, which means a single successful revive funds the upgrade and leaves change. Nothing else in the verified list has that ratio.
The scopes cost more than most vehicles. At $40,000 and $45,000 【B】 they sit above the Dune Buggy at $25,000 and the URAL at $35,000 【B】, and in the same band as the Little Bird at $50,000 【B】. A player who buys one of those scopes has spent the price of a transport vehicle on a sight. That is not a criticism — it is the arithmetic you need before deciding, and the budget planner will show exactly how many lives of that kit your bankroll covers.
Armour: unconfirmed, and why that is written out rather than filled in
No armour price, protection value, or slot system appears in the traced source list. That is a real gap, and this page will not estimate around it: a guessed protection figure is worse than no figure, because a reader can plan a budget around a wrong number but cannot plan around an honest blank.
| Question about armour | Status | What would settle it |
|---|---|---|
| Does armour exist as a purchasable category? | 【Unconfirmed】 | A vendor screen listing it, or a publisher statement |
| What does it cost? | 【Unconfirmed】 | A Season price list entry |
| Does it reduce incoming damage, and by how much? | 【Unconfirmed】 | Developer figures, which this site would not otherwise publish without a source |
| Does it have weight or movement penalties? | 【Unconfirmed】 | A patch note or in-build measurement |
Until those are settled, plan loadouts from the table above plus the prices page, and treat any site quoting an armour value for WARDOGS as untraced until it names where the number came from.
How the verified items fit together in a life
The interesting decisions are not “which rifle” but “which combination survives contact at a cost your bankroll can repeat”.
- The free rifle plus binoculars is about $75 【C】 (free plus the ~$75 listing 【B】). That is the cheapest way to carry a scouting tool into a match, and marks pay $100 each 【B】 — the tool pays for itself on the first mark.
- The Large Hammer is the support entry point at $2,400 【B】 and it gates the mortar, which also needs FOB supply 【B】. One build completion pays between $1,200 and $1,500 【B】, so two completions roughly cover the hammer.
- The FOB is the largest single commitment at $7,500 【B】 — about three quarters of a starting bankroll 【C】. It only makes sense as a shared purchase, and the squad play page covers how teams split that kind of cost.
- Nothing above needs a scope to work. The scopes are a luxury line sitting above most vehicles in price, and buying one before your bankroll can fund a repeatable kit is the most expensive version of the level-9 discount mistake 【B】.
What this page does not tell you
It does not tell you which weapon wins a fight, because it has no verified damage, recoil, range or handling figures for any item. It does not tell you armour values, because none could be traced 【Unconfirmed】. It does not list ammo prices, attachment counts or slot restrictions, for the same reason. And it cannot guarantee the prices are current: the Season 1 list is single-source 【B】 and the vendor in game is the final word 【C】.
If you need a number this page refuses to give, the about page explains why that refusal is the product, and the contact page is where a source that would settle one of these gaps belongs.
