What this page is, and what it is not

This page is not a live status board. It cannot tell you whether the servers are up at the moment you are reading it, and any site that claims to is either guessing or selling you something. What it does instead is keep a dated record of the issues that have actually been reported around the 10 September 2026 early-access launch of WARDOGS, what the publisher has done about each one, and what a player can do in the meantime.

Live status lives in two places: the publisher’s own announcements on the WARDOGS Steam news hub, and whatever in-game service message your client is showing. Check those first. Come back here for the part those channels do not provide — a table that says whether a problem is still a problem.

Known issues and their state

#IssueStateWhat to do nowGrade
1Launch-week queue and matchmaking pressure (“queue crisis”)Partly addressed. Patch 0.11 on 12 September 2026 reworked the server browser into Community and Official tabs, added text search and a pinned server IDPin a specific server from the Community tab instead of letting the browser pick. Return to the same one rather than re-rolling【B】
2Server browser made it hard to land on a full serverAddressed by the same Patch 0.11 changeUse the tabs and search. A fuller server is also a better-paying server — see the population curve【B】
3No Linux or Steam Deck support at launchStated at launch, no confirmed changeIf that platform is your only one, this is a purchase blocker, not a settings problem. Re-check the store page, which is authoritative【B】
4Windows systems without Secure Boot and TPM 2.0Recommended at launchEnable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 in firmware before troubleshooting anything else. Requirements are listed on the system requirements page【B】
5Storage pressure on smaller drivesStated at launch: reserve 50GB or moreCheck free space before installing; a full drive produces crashes that look like server problems【B】
6Early-access test rewards not delivered at launchStated: Twitch Drops from the test period were distributed after launch through the VaultCheck the Vault before opening a ticket. This was a distribution delay, not a loss【B】
7Cash and XP abuse after launchAddressed by policy, not by patch: the 12 September 2026 statement says cash-bug abuse can bring a reset or ban and organised XP farming carries heavier penaltiesNothing to fix on your side, but do not follow a “money glitch” guide — the penalty lands on the account, not on the guide【B】
8Cheap supply-crate items farming XPAddressed in Season 1: the XP value of selling sub-$75 crate items was reducedThe route is closed. Use the documented tracks instead — see the progression page【B】

Anything that is not in this table has not been verified as an issue. In particular, no specific error code, no server-side crash and no region-specific outage is listed, because this site could not trace any of them to a statement or a reproducible build behaviour.

Work down this list before assuming an outage

Most “the servers are down” reports resolve at step two or three. The order matters, because the cheap checks are also the ones that produce a false outage verdict.

  1. Check the official channel. If the publisher has posted an incident on the Steam news hub, stop here — you are in an outage and nothing local will fix it.
  2. Check whether it is you or the match. If you can reach the lobby but not enter a match, that is a matchmaking path, not an outage. Restart the client once; a stale session is the single most common cause.
  3. Pick a server explicitly. With the Community and Official tabs 【B】, choose a named server with visible population instead of using whatever the browser defaults to. If a named server accepts you and the default does not, the problem is your previous match, not the service.
  4. Check the local blockers. Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 on Windows 【B】, free disk space above 50GB 【B】, and the platform question — Linux and Steam Deck were not supported at launch 【B】.
  5. Then check your connection. A VPN, a corporate proxy or a strict ad-blocking DNS profile can break the matchmaking handshake while leaving browsing intact. Toggle the tunnel off; if the queue clears immediately, that was the cause.
  6. Only then report it. Include the exact time, the server you were trying to join, and whether a named server also failed. A report without those three facts cannot be matched to an incident.

Why “server status” pages are usually wrong

The genre has a structural problem, and it is worth naming because it is the same problem this page is written to avoid. Status pages built for search traffic have an incentive to be dramatic: a page that says “no known issues” gets no clicks, so pages drift towards implying outages during perfectly normal queue times. Worse, they are usually static text with a current-looking timestamp, which produces a page that looks live and is not.

Two habits protect you from that, on this site and on others:

  • Look for a dated build reference. This page’s top bar names the patch it assumes and the date it was last checked 【C】. If a page has no such bar, its claims have no shelf life and no author is accountable for them.
  • Prefer the publisher’s own channel for live state. A first-party announcement is the only source that cannot be a day behind by construction.

What to do while it is genuinely down

An outage is a good moment to fix a budget instead of a connection. The vehicle and gear prices page lists every Season 1 tag, the loadout budget planner turns a cash figure into lives funded, and the starter loadout page shows which cheap items are worth buying before you cross level 9 and lose the store discount 【B】.

If the downtime is your first evening with the game, the beginner guide is the better place to start than the queue screen.

When this page gets updated

This page is re-checked weekly while the game is in early access, and immediately after any patch that touches matchmaking, the server browser or platform support. It is edited in place and the date at the top changes; no separate page is created per incident. If you are seeing a problem that this table does not describe, send it to the contact page with the time, the server and the symptom, and it gets added once it can be traced.
